Our children today spend most of their time in a very fast pace environment, with many school pressures like homework, projects, quizzes and exams.  In addition to that is attending tutorial lessons to upkeep high academic standards while at the same time trying to excel into competitive sports of related to their interest.  You may not know how these activities are very stressing to them until they get sick or until they say to you frankly, “Mom, can you give me a break?”. The effect of these tedious daily activities can have a strong negative effect on their desire to enjoy their life as a kid.

Yoga can help your kids deal with these pressures. When children learn skills for their own health, relaxation, and inner fulfillment, they can find the best way to fight and face life’s challenges with a little more ease. Yoga at their very young age promotes self-confidence and body awareness with a physical activity that’s noncompetitive. Nurturing teamwork and kindness are best for our children.

Children can receive enormous benefits from yoga. Physically, it develops their flexibility, strength, coordination, and body awareness. Besides, they can learn attentiveness, meditation, focus, concentration and sense of calmness and the advantage of relaxation. Exercising yoga, children exercise, play, connect more deeply with the inner self, and develop an intimate relationship with the natural world that surrounds them. Yoga brings that spectacular inner light that all children have to go through.

Thousands of years ago, when yogis developed poses that time they lived near to the natural world and used animals and plants for inspiration.  When children emulate the actions and sounds of nature, they have a likelihood to commune with another being and think of or assumme taking on its character and individuality. When they assume the pose of the lion they experience not only the power and behavior of the lion, but also their own sense of power: when to be aggressive, when to retreat. The physical movements introduce kids to yoga’s true meaning: union, expression, and honor for oneself and one’s part in this very fragile life.  There are many yoga positions imitated from animals movements and positions like dogs, cats, snakes, frogs and the likes. A person may not need to go to yoga class to learn if he has the ability to imitate positions that are demonstrated by animals.

Children looks so cute and amazing when they stand solid and tall like a tree they look so strong, stretch like a dog, balance like a flamingo, breathe like a bunny, or, they are making a connection between the environment and bodies of human. The significance of respect for all life around them and the law of interdependence turn out to be evident.
